Many people think that all you need to do for bone density is take Calcium. That is very far from the truth, in fact too much calcium without magnesium can be detrimental to your bones. ( Magnesium deficiency symptoms may be chocolate cravings and constipation) Most people know about vitamin D, the “sunshine vitamin”,  but most of us are not getting enough of it. In fact, research since this article was written shows that we need 5,000 to 10,0o0 iu daily to get the needed 80-100 on a Vitamin D blood test. Vitamin D is necessary for so Many vital functions in our body, and bone density is just one of them. Have you heard about strontium? This is a mineral that can quickly stimulate new bone growth. Why haven’t you heard of these before? Pharmaceutical companies that charge astronomical rates on bone density meds have the money to advertise, and support our politicians to make sure we only hear what they want us to hear. Do you think the government wants you to have a long life paying for your healthcare with a declining medicare fund  AND paying out your social security benefits for many many years or to push the products that they are encouraged to support through generous donations from pharmaceutical giants?
