B12, Vitamin – Methylcobalamin

by admin_amy | Published July 8, 2015

Vitamin B12, in the form of methylcobalamin, lowers homocysteine. Elevated homocysteine causes inflammation that leads to heart disease (stroke), arthritis, Alzheimer’s, and even diabetes. Many diseases are related to inflammation. Vitamin B12 effects the brain and a deficiency of this vital nutrient can lead to anything from memory problems to insanity. Sleep can even be positively effected by methylcobalamin, but B12 can also give you energy. Because Vitamin B12 effects our brain and nerves, neurological diseases such as multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease or Lou Gehrig’s disease can be effected by a B12 deficiency.  B12 decreases with age and can be tested at your doctor’s office to see if you are deficient. Cyanocobalamin is from cyanide and is poison to the body so take methylcobalamin and it will need to be taken as a lozenge (under the tongue).
